Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of facility equipment by conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and performing general repairs. This role requires a detail-oriented and resourceful professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in diagnosing technical issues and implementing solutions that enhance productivity and minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities:Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues with manufacturing equipment and implement timely repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to reduce unexpected breakdowns and extend operational lifespan. Inspect and test equipment components to identify potential issues and maintain performance standards. Respond promptly to equipment failures to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production flow. Facility Repairs and Upkeep: Conduct general repairs and maintenance for the facility, including electrical systems, and structural components. Assist in the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment as needed. Maintain clean and safe work areas, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance schedules. Document equipment performance data and report recurring issues to management for further action. Work closely with the Facilities Manager to plan and prioritize maintenance tasks. Collaboration and Process Improvement: Partner with operations staff to address equipment concerns and suggest improvements to enhance productivity. Stay updated on new technologies and maintenance practices to support operational efficiency. Act as a resource for training team members on proper equipment use and maintenance best practices. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred. 4+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Skills and Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues effectively. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools. Basic understanding of blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA standards for maintenance operations. Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus. Experience with industrial equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, and CNC machinery. Understanding of preventive maintenance software or Enterprise Resource Planning systems (preferred). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders. Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
