About the Advancing School Attendance Specialist Role As an Advancing School Attendance Specialist within our School Attendance team, you'll play a vital role in supporting students and families in Berks County by helping remove barriers to consistent school attendance. This position is ideal for someone who is bilingual, collaborative, and confident navigating both educational and social service systems. Starting Rate: $20.9615/hour, based on experience and qualifications Advancing School Attendance Specialist Core Responsibilities Request and complete service authorizations Verify MA status and insurance eligibility Develop and maintain individualized service plans Document all services and contacts accurately and timely Provide support to individuals and their families to address attendance barriers Offer crisis intervention and resource referrals as needed Provide testimony in court proceedings when required Collaborate with SAM teams and external agencies What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited college or university Preferred: At least two years of postgraduate experience in child welfare, truancy, or case management Bilingual/Bicultural - fluent in English and Spanish Ability to work independently while managing documentation and timelines Commitment to confidentiality, cultural humility, and ethical practice A valid driver's license and reliable transportation Who Thrives in This Role We've found that people who are: Adaptable Responsive Empathetic Strong communicators who value teamwork ...tend to thrive in this role.
