Job Announcement 20260084 Front Desk Receptionist- Recreation CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled APPLY ONLINE AT LONGMONTCOLORADO.GOV/JOBS Department: External Services Division: Community Enrichment Subdivision: Parks, Recreation & Open Space Hiring Rate: $16.43/hour Some weekends, evenings, holidays required Part Time Temporary Benefits include: Benefits required by law are included such as Jury & Witness Duty, Sick Leave, Social Security, and Medicare. Definition: Warmly greets and welcomes guests; registers patrons for activities, facility passes and reservations. Collects revenue, operates computer systems, and maintains attendance of facility. Answers questions in a professional manner in person and/or by telephone. Ensures the security, health and safety of patrons accessing the facility. Principal Duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: • Courteously and promptly greet and/or direct patrons in person or on the telephone. • Handle monetary transactions including daily admissions or passes, activity registrations, and facility rentals. Operate and balance cash till. • Assist in the filing and maintenance of various records and reports such as inventory, activity and cash reports. • Assist with facility tours. Schedule tours for school and community groups. • Assist the public through knowledgeable and tactful questioning. Determine customers' needs, answer questions and provide information for all of the Departments activities and programs. • Inventory and sell resale items. • Assist patrons or staff in emergency situations as outlined. • Attend and participate in staff meetings and/or trainings. • Maintain a clean and orderly front entrance and facility environment. • Observe, follow and enforce established policies and procedures in the daily conduct of the job. • Plan and arrange work schedule and establish priorities to complete scheduled assigned work within parameters assigned by the supervisor. • Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City Attributes. Working Environment: Working conditions are mostly performed indoors, in a busy environment. It can involve exposure to hot and cold temperatures, high humidity and moderate to loud background noise conditions. Work is performed independently and as a member of staff. Work requires frequent use of: fingers and hands, walking, standing, hearing, speaking, problem solving, math, verbal and written communication and customer contact, handling multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, handling cash amounts, custodial duties, slippery/uneven walking surfaces, working alone or working closely with others. Work occasionally involves: light/moderate lifting and carrying (1-49 lbs.), bending, stooping, and kneeling. Possible driving of City vehicle for errands (if 18 years of age or older). Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. Proficiency and speed in using personal computer and working knowledge of data entry. First Aid, CPR/AED certifications desired.
