The Part-Time Roving Park Attendant works under the direction of the Parks Supervisor. This position is responsible for the general cleanliness and safety of the parks. Examples of duties include emptying trash/waste containers regularly; ensuring park grounds are free of litter, debris, and safety hazards; ensuring walkways are clear and accessible for visitors; using a shovel, blower, or other tools to remove debris as needed; performing restroom maintenance to include regular checks, restocking paper products, emptying trash cans, and cleaning sinks/toilets/urinals/floors as needed; checking playground equipment for safety; raking mulch back into heavy use areas; enforcing park rules and regulations as needed; This part-time position is eligible for health insurance and sick leave. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: No experience necessary, park maintenance or janitorial work experience preferred. Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with co-workers and the public through telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to work, see, read, speak, hear, and lift objects. Position requires a minimum degree of skill in problem solving and decision-making; comprehensive communicative activities such as reading, writing, and speaking; a medium degree of skill in memory recall as it pertains to relaying details in an oral and written format.
