Registered Nurse - Outpatient Pediatrics

Requirements: • CA RN license • BLS • PALS • 2 yrs ER/ICU and triage experience (1 year Pedi ER triage or 2 year Adult ER Triage) • will consider Adult ER, but must have Pedi exp • 2 yrs travel exp preferred • Previous Children's Hospital Experience is highly desired •Must Haves: ED or UC (pediatric or adult) Shifts:PLEASE NOTE - hours have varying start and end times • 36 hours guaranteed weekly, may work up to 40 hours • 5 shifts a week (4 weekdays and 1 Sat/Sun shift) • Weekdays scheduled 1500 - close (varying approximately 7-9 hours) • Weekends scheduled 1230- close (varying approximately 9-11 hours) Traveler's home site will be South Bay but they could work at any of the 6 Urgent Care sites, La Mesa, Mid City, Chula Vista, Escondido, Oceanside and Murrieta. All the sites are considered the department as a whole. You will not float to another department in the Rady organization. Unit Summary: 36 beds. 200 pts per day is avg/ Ortho Clinic is a separate entity but shares space; there are 4 urgent care sites that may need a Traveler. Need to perform sedation's; MUST have computerized charting/they use EPIC 8 or 10 D/E rotation/weekends/holidays. NP Ratio 1:4 Functions at the Standard Level of nursing practice. Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care. Selects and administers the appropriate care taking into consideration the age and developmental level and size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources as needed.
