Position description The Division of Dermatology in the Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking applicants for a full-time, postdoctoral position. The candidate will conduct research in the laboratory of Dr. Chen Kam. Candidate will be expected to: Design, execute and analyze experiments for manuscript preparation Present findings at university scientific forums and national/international conferences Participate in multidisciplinary research collaborations Contribute to training/supervision of students and technicians in the lab This research opportunity is centered upon understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms that dictate postnatal development, homeostatic maintenance, and regeneration of mammalian vascular networks. The position is supported by an NIH R00 grant and start-up funds from UCLA. Research in the Kam lab is focused on understanding the regulation of vascular cell behaviors within their native tissue environment utilizing a completely non-invasive live imaging approach via multiphoton microscopy. Using the murine skin as a model, our research aims to dissect the regulation of cellular behaviors that dictate the remodeling and functionality of the mammalian vasculature in health and disease states. We are seeking a dedicated individual that is driven by curiosity and excitement to join our growing team. An M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. is required, preferably obtained within the past 5 years.
