CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist Our client in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a dedicated and dependable CNC Machinist to join their team. CNC Machinist is responsible for the setup and operation of CNC machines and manual equipment, including Bridgeport mills, to produce precision components that meet customer quality requirements. This role requires interpreting prints and travelers, monitoring machining performance, and ensuring efficient machine utilization while maintaining safety and quality standards. Essential Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC vertical milling centers, CNC lathes, and manual Bridgeport mills per job requirements. Utilize setup sheets, engineering drawings, and programmer notes to complete machine setups. Load, set, and adjust tooling as required for each job. Operate and maintain Bridgeport mills for secondary operations, tooling, and precision modifications. Change cutting tools and adjust feeds and speeds to optimize performance and part quality. Monitor machining operations to ensure proper cutting performance and machine utilization. Perform minor program edits at the machine, including adjustments to G and M codes, as needed. Set up and operate multiple machines simultaneously. Conduct in-process and preliminary inspections using standard inspection equipment. Interpret aerospace and precision manufacturing drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies. Experience & Technical Requirements CNC Operator: 23 years of CNC machine operation experience CNC Machinist: 45 years of CNC machining experience 35 years of hands-on experience with manual Bridgeport mills Experience with CNC lathes and vertical milling centers Ability to set own tools per job requirements Familiarity with G-code and M-code programming Ability to perform minor program edits at the machine Experience with Fanuc controls, preferably on OKK machines Knowledge of 2D and 3D machining processes Proficient with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and blueprint reading Willingness to possess or supply required personal tools Qualifications & Skills Strong attention to detail and quality standards Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills Effective communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Safety- and security-focused mindset Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift Ability to perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching Ability to remain on feet for the entire shift Pay: $30 and up DOE Shift: 1st shift with overtime About Cardinal Staffing At Cardinal Staffing, a Surestaff Company, we are dedicated to helping individuals unlock their career potential through meaningful job opportunities.
