Job Description: Surgery Coder (Intermediate Level)Expected Start Date:March 10, 2026 Work Environment:Fully Remote (CST) Schedule:8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST (Flexible start times: 7 AM, 8 AM, or 9 AM)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experiencedSurgery Coderwith strong expertise in general surgery, breast surgery, gastroenterology surgery, and head & neck surgery. This role requires accurately coding surgeries directly from PMD, pulling up auto-notes, and completing detailed work with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate is confident, detailoriented, and collaborative, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesPerformdirect surgery codingfor a variety of surgical specialties. UtilizePMDto review and code surgeries efficiently. Pull and completeauto notesto ensure accurate documentation. Review medical documentation and apply appropriateCPT,ICD10, andHCPCScodes. Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and payer requirements. Collaborate with team members as needed to resolve coding questions or discrepancies. Maintain productivity standards and meet accuracy expectations.Required Skills & ExpertiseTop SkillsSurgery Coding General Surgery Coding Breast Surgery Coding Head & Neck Surgery Coding Gastrointestinal Surgery CodingQualificationsCPC certification required. Minimum2 years of General Surgery coding experience. Minimum2 years of Breast Surgery coding experience. Experience codinggeneral surgery, head & neck, breast, and GIprocedures. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures. Previous medical coding experience in a similar environment.Additional Skills & AttributesDetail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy. Confident in decision-making and coding methodology. Effective communicator and collaborative team member. Comfortable asking questions to ensure correct coding and documentation.Work Environment & RequirementsRemote position, must reside in one of the following states: TX, OK, AL, MO, GA, FL, AR, KS, SD, IL, KY, LA, TN, MENot eligible:West Coast (e.g., CA, OR, WA), New York, New Jersey - STRICT NO. Hours:8-5 CST (flexible start times available). No time off during the first 90 days.
