The role focuses on both OB and general anesthesia services in an inpatient-only setting. This position offers flexible scheduling with approximately 15 shifts per month, which may be grouped or assigned on a PRN basis. Job Responsibilities Provide anesthesia care for obstetric patients, including labor epidurals and C-sections. Administer anesthesia for general surgery, limited orthopedic, urology, plastic surgery, and GI procedures. Participate in 24-hour call coverage for OB and general cases. Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure safe and effective patient care. Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system (Cerner). Qualifications Board Certified in Anesthesiology (new graduates will be considered). Active Illinois medical license or IMLC eligibility (LOQ required at time of submission). Minimum of 1-2 years relevant clinical experience preferred. Clean malpractice and background history (REQUIRED). Working Hours ~15 shifts per month (can be grouped or sporadic/PRN). 24-hour shifts covering OB and general anesthesia cases. Weekend and on-call coverage as needed. Skills Proficiency in obstetric and general anesthesia techniques. Experience with a range of surgical specialties: OB, general, limited ortho/urology, plastic surgery, and GI. Strong communication and team collaboration. Familiarity with Cerner EMR. Ability to adapt to varying patient volumes (6-20/day; approx. 60 per week).
