Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Business Office Assistant Date Posted: 1/29/2026 Location: SASED Administrative Offices Date Available: 03/02/2026 Closing Date: 02/20/2026 Title: Payroll Manager Reports To: Assistant Director of Business ServicesSalary: $60,000.00 (Prorated for the remainder of the fiscal year with the new FY beginning July 1, 2026.)Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Math degree preferred, but not required. Knowledge of school accounting software in accounts payable and purchasing Experience in a school district business office is desirable. General office skills including the ability to operate a computer and word processing and financial software. Knowledge of special education data collection is desirable. Core Competencies: Strong desire to be part of a team that puts the needs of exceptional students first Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skill Effective collaborative problem-solving ability and independent work ethic Duties and Responsibilities: Process and complete payroll, including time sheets and sub pay, deductions, semi-monthly for all employees Coordinate and complete monthly IMRF report Communicates association dues for each pay period Answer employee paycheck questions Pay liabilities (taxes, TRS, IMRF, 941, etc.) for employee payrolls Provide customer service regarding all payroll inquires, including retirement, taxes, and deductions Process new hire paperwork for all payroll needs. Complete TRS/IMRF Annual Report and TRS/IMRF Reports each pay period Annual W-2 processing & filing of forms with federal and state government Complete and submit ISBE Teacher Salary Study Submit monthly information to US Dept. of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics Process employee payroll terminations Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Process employment lane changes and compensation adjustments beginning of year and mid-year Resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner. Generate payroll reports for finance, HR, and administration. Assist with system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new payroll processes. Develop and share correspondence that employees need for various purposes Assist with creation and enter staff work calendars for all employees Assist with the annual audit Research, compile, assimilate, support, and prepare accurate and organized documents, projects, presentations, and reports Attend professional development opportunities and engage in ongoing education in order to support a system of learning and improvement and the overall efficiency and functioning of the organization, including staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality in matters of student and staff personnel information Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
