Seeking a U.S. Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse for a Maintenance Technician Lead role with a growing a global provider of reusable packaging solutions for the fresh food supply chain industry. The Maintenance Lead is responsible for ensuring operational excellence of all wash processes, maximizing machine efficiency, and scheduling planned machine maintenance within service center. Partner with General or Maintenance Manager to offer guidance and oversight of local maintenance staff to ensure effective maintenance and operation of plant and wash equipment. Pay Range: $24 - $27/hour Shift(s) Third Shift Schedule (Week Starts Sunday Evening): Sunday: 6:00pm-6:00am (weekly equipment start-up responsibilities) Monday-Thursday: 11:00pm-7:00am Overtime may be required on Friday nights and/or scheduled weekend shifts based on business needsBenefits: Offers a flexible benefits package, for benefit eligible employees Essential Duties and AccountabilitiesLead corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of PLC-controlled, automated, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime while maintaining safe work practices Identify, document, and resolve safety issues related to machinery, electrical systems, and facility operations Proactively analyze equipment failures and recommend solutions to improve reliability and operational efficiency Develop, control, and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies Recommend purchase of tools, equipment, and materials to support maintenance operations Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to maintenance technicians during troubleshooting and repairs Review, audit, and ensure quality completion of preventive maintenance tasks performed by technicians Train and mentor technicians, supporting daily and weekly development efforts Audit, sustain, and document work orders and PMs within the CMMS system Support installations, equipment start-ups, and long-term operation of new and existing systems Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as directed by management Monitor machine performance metrics including downtime, repair costs, and maintenance effectiveness Maintain strong collaboration and communication with production, warehouse, and leadership teams RequirementsU.S. Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse strongly encouraged High school diploma or GED preferred Education or certifications in industrial electronics, automation, PLCs, welding, or wash systems required Approximately 6 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience, with emphasis on automation- and PLC-driven equipment Advanced proficiency in industrial pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems Experience in high-volume production or warehouse environments Proven experience with conveyors, automation systems, motors, water systems, large-volume washers, and PLC controls Strong experience completing preventive maintenance tasks and documenting work in a CMMS Ability to independently diagnose issues and execute repair plans with minimal oversight High attention to detail with strong organizational and decision-making skills Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication abilities Preferred ExperienceWelding, pipe installation/repair, and heating or boiler system experience General facility maintenance experience including doors, offices, forklifts, and building systems Food-safe, food production, or food packaging environment experience Environment and Physical DemandsWork schedule includes rotating shifts and weekends Working safely and efficiently under difficult circumstances and deadlines to make necessary repairs and keep the lines running Work environment is not climate controlled, and some areas are exposed to water from the machinery Mechanical work includes climbing into machinery and being exposed to hot, steamy conditions Daily work with chemicals Daily work includes altitude areas Easterseals DC MD VA is an equal employment opportunity employer.
