Job #: 135135 Title: Day Shift Packer/Forklift Operator Location: Fort Madison Area Salary Range: 15.00 Position: Forklift Operator Description: Working in the packing building packing material into drums and using forklift to move the drums to the designated area. 6am-6pm crew on a 2-3-2 schedule Must have HS diploma or G.E.D. Clean background. The Forklift Operator/Warehouse Technician is responsible for facilitating the movement of supplies, materials, and product throughout the facility in a safe and efficient manner. Adhere to plant safety rules and programs as it pertains to self and all other associates, including performing audits, safety suggestions, and participation in safety and rotation of jobs. Safely and efficiently operate forklift trucks in a fast-paced environment around other forklifts, production machinery, and pedestrians. Complete daily inspection checklists, fuel changes, and tag out process for repair of powered industrial trucks if needed. Responsible for the movement of palletized and non-palletized packaging materials, raw materials, finished goods and pallets within the facility, to and from the production lines as well as loading and unloading trailers. Accurately complete and understand required paperwork for internal transfers, bills of lading, supply counts, changeover data, overage/shortage and damage reports, component verification sheets, and others as needed. Operate plant inventory control systems effectively and efficiently such as computer mounted and handheld scanning equipment. Support production and quality requirements by supplying as needed. Communicate both verbally and written within the warehouse department, shift to shift, to production and other supporting departments. Continuously look for methods, procedural changes, processes, or equipment modifications to improve efficiencies and communicate appropriately. Requirements: High School Diploma / GED Minimum one year experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment preferred. Must be able to do basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, and dividing. Ability to follow directions provided in verbal or non-verbal format. Strong communication skills Demonstrate a willingness to learn multiple job assignments. Must be a team player and promote teamwork. Available to work overtime as needed.
