Please allow up to 72 hours for Human Resources to respond- TEST TYPE & SCORE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION: Typing: Net 50wpm, Admin: 80%, Math: 80%, Word: 80%, Excel: 80% Department: Medical Examiner's Office Job Title: Administrative Assistant I Hourly Pay Rate: $23.38 (starting) + dependent on experience Location: 5101 North Parkway Conroe, TX 77303 Civil Service: Not Applicable Shift Hours: To be discussed- hours will be during normal office hours, but part-time (20 hours/week) Education, Experience and Skill Requirements • Bachelor's degree or 1-3 years of experience required • Knowledge and experience in forensics and medical terminology is required; must be willing to be trained to assist in forensic work (such as release of decedents and personal effects) • Ability to review graphic autopsy photos, crime scene images, and other sensitive case documentation • Able to maintain effective working relationships with physicians and co-workers, as well as the general public and law enforcement agencies, courts, and other County departments • Must be able to multitask on a daily basis • Must pass drug test and clerical test Primary Job Duties • Closing out case files with QA of Autopsy reports • Release of cremation waivers to funeral homes • Answer and screen phone calls • Handle all incoming and outgoing mail for the office • Answer door/gate; greet and sign in guests, finding the appropriate staff for guests • Filing of paperwork • Processing requests for follow-up/record request • Other duties as assigned After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
