IBM DB2 Database Administrator

Role: IBM DB2 Database Administrator Location: Albany, NY Job Description: Technical skills: • DB2 LUW Database server installation, configuration and upgrade on Linux servers. • Database disaster recovery setup (HADR). • Database server encryption using DB2 native encryption and IBM Guardium. • Manage database authentication and authorization. • Database monitoring and performance optimization; db2expln, db2advis, db2top, db2diag, db2pd etc. • Database backup and log management; database restoration from incremental/full backup image. • Database storage space (tablespaces) and memory (bufferpools) management; database capacity planning. • Design and implement database changes according to business requirement; roll-out changes to various database environments with releases. • Data movement across various database environments. • Triggers/Stored procedure/Functions/indexes creation based on application requirement. • Logical data modelling and ERD generation using Erwin. • Data loading and error resolution using load and import utilities. • Data Profiling and cleansing using SQL statements. • Perform database maintenance activities such as runstats, reorg, snapshots, prun logs etc. • Knowledge of bash/shell scripting and cron scheduling. • Basic knowledge of ETL and associated processes.
