Role : Sunbird DCIM Engineer Location : Atlanta, GA FTE ONLY Job Description Must Have Technical/Functional Skills Strong experience with structured cabling systems including fiber (SM/MM) and copper (Cat5e/6/6a) Proficiency in cable documentation, labelling standards, and connectivity mapping Hands-on knowledge of DCIM platforms (Sunbird preferred) for asset, capacity, and connectivity management Ability to maintain accurate patching records, rack elevations, and device templates Strong skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio for rack, floor, and network diagramming Experience mapping NIC ports, switch ports, MAC addresses, and interface roles Understanding of firmware data currency, device models, templates, and configuration accuracy Familiarity with workflow, change management, and MACD processes Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and audit readiness Ability to collaborate with network, server, and data center operations teams Roles & Responsibilities Maintain complete and accurate structured cabling documentation across fiber and copper plant Update and manage rack layouts, elevations, cabling paths, and network diagrams using AutoCAD/Visio Administer Sunbird DCIM (or equivalent) for asset tracking, capacity planning, and connectivity mapping Document NIC card layouts, including mapping to patch panels, switch ports, MAC details, speeds, and interface type (Prod/Mgmt/iDRAC) Keep device inventory, firmware data, and DCIM model libraries current and compliant Ensure all moves/adds/changes (MACD) are accurately logged and reflected in DCIM Support quarterly/annual audits, compliance checks, and data center governance activities Collaborate with cabling vendors, network teams, and server teams to maintain accurate end to end connectivity maps Maintain device templates, rack layouts, and structured cabling databases for capacity planning and forecasting Provide visual diagrams and documentation for new deployments, expansions, or migrations
