AWS Data Architect

Job Title: AWS Data Architect Type: Fulltime Location: cincinnati, OH About the Role We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect with strong Databricks expertise to design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of modern data architecture, big data processing, and cloud-native services, along with hands-on experience in building enterprise-grade data platforms using AWS and Databricks. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures on AWS. Architect and build end-to-end data solutions using Databricks (Lakehouse architecture). Develop and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines. Design data lakes using Amazon S3, Delta Lake, and modern data warehousing concepts. Integrate AWS services such as AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, AWS Lambda, Amazon EMR, and Amazon Kinesis. Optimize data processing workflows using Apache Spark within Databricks. Define data governance, data quality, metadata management, and security best practices. Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions. Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, and best-practice guidance. Ensure cost optimization, scalability, reliability, and performance of data platforms. Required Qualifications 8+ years of experience in data engineering and data architecture. Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Platform. 3+ years of experience working with Databricks on AWS. Expertise in Apache Spark, Python, SQL, and PySpark. Experience designing data lakes and Lakehouse architecture. Hands-on experience with AWS services such as: Amazon S3 AWS Glue Amazon Redshift Amazon EMR Amazon Kinesis Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in cloud environments. Strong understanding of data modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas). Knowledge of data governance, security (IAM roles, encryption), and compliance standards. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Data Analytics Certification. Databricks Certified Data Engineer or Architect certification. Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform / CloudFormation). Experience with streaming frameworks and real-time processing. Exposure to BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology.
