Estimator

Byrne & Jones Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Sports & Parks Division. This role is essential in accurately assessing project costs and developing detailed estimates for sports and parks construction projects. You'll work closely with our sales and design teams to ensure estimates align with client expectations and project goals. As an Estimator in the Sports & Parks Division, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for a wide range of projects. This includes reviewing project documents, collaborating with internal teams to fully understand scope, and applying engineering knowledge to develop cost-effective, competitive solutions. Your work directly supports budgeting, sales efforts, and overall project success. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for sports and parks construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project scope and client needs. • Collaborate with sales and design teams to gather details, clarify scope, and resolve uncertainties. • Review project documents to identify all cost components, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead. • Maintain and utilize a shared database of historical cost data to improve estimating accuracy. • Clearly document estimates with detailed breakdowns and cost justifications. • Communicate with project teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment and address estimate-related questions. • Stay current on industry standards, preferred vendors, and construction methods that may impact costs. • Attend internal and external meetings as needed to support project understanding and company initiatives. Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major required • Self-perform civil experience (preconstruction or operations) is strongly desired • General technical knowledge of civil is preferred • General knowledge of construction principles and processes • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and site needs • General knowledge of estimating software, including HCSS HeavyBid, HeavyJob and Bluebeam Revu • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Strong math and analytical skills with attention to detail • Strong organizational and communication skills • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Byrne and Jones' core values Physical Requirements: • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and office equipment for extended periods. • Ability to read documents, plans, and screens for long periods. • Ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via video calls. • Ability to travel for occasional client meetings or job site visits.
