Department Operating Room Job SummaryHiring Now for an Interventional Radiology Technologist!!! Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation or prescribed radiofrequency beams for radiologic diagnosis and / or intervention. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Sarasota Memorial Hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our surgical team. This position will work in the operating room (OR) under the direction of a vascular surgeon, providing advanced imaging support during complex interventional procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in fluoroscopic imaging, and comfortable working in a detail-paced surgical environment. No IR experience required. Training provided.Key Responsibilities include: • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and angiographic systems, during vascular and interventional procedures. • Assist the vascular surgeon and surgical team in complex endovascular and hybrid OR cases. • Ensure proper patient positioning and radiation safety measures to optimize imaging quality. • Maintain sterile technique and assist in procedural setup, including catheter and wire management. • Perform pre-procedural imaging assessments and post-procedure image documentation. • Collaborate with OR staff, anesthesia providers, and nurses to ensure seamless workflow during procedures. • Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and radiation safety guidelines. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with best practices in interventional radiology. Salary Details: Hourly rate is determined by years of experience relating to this role and internal equity within organization.
