Software Engineer API Integration or Web Dev Contractor

Software Engineers are deployed onto active client engagements to support targeted integration, API development, and application enablement efforts.This role is designed for an experienced Software Engineer focused on API development, system integration, and lightweight web interfaces. Engineers in this role contribute hands-on code that enables secure data movement, controlled user interaction, and integration with downstream platforms. This is not a large-scale enterprise application role.Current engagements may include initiatives that require experience supporting emissions-focused or environmentally driven programs, particularly where data accuracy, traceability, and security are important. This role supports deployment across different projects and industries over time, based on client demand.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAPI Development: Design, develop, and maintain secure APIs that support system-to-system data exchangeSystem Integration: Build and support integration services connecting source systems, platforms, and downstream applicationsWeb Interface Development: Design and develop web-based user interfaces and supporting services for data entry, review, and access control, including integration with backend APIs and servicesAuthentication & Security: Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms aligned with enterprise security standards, including single sign-onRequirements Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts and Project Managers to translate requirements into working codeCode Quality: Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with development standardsTesting & Validation: Support unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolutionDeployment Support: Assist with build, release, and deployment activitiesProduction Support: Support troubleshooting and issue resolution for deployed solutionsConsulting Engagement Support: Operate effectively within a client-facing consulting delivery environmentEducationBachelor’s Degree requiredPreferred fields include Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplinesRequired SkillsMinimum 5+ years of professional experience as a Software EngineerStrong experience developing APIs and integration servicesProficiency in .NET and C# for backend, API, and lightweight web-based developmentExperience building web interfaces using Angular and/or ReactExperience implementing authentication and authorization using Azure Active Directory or similar identity providerExperience working with RESTful services and JSON-based integrationsUnderstanding of secure coding practicesAbility to work effectively in project-based or consulting delivery environmentsNice-to-Have Skills (Preferred, Not Required)Experience supporting emissions or environmental initiativesExperience integrating with analytics or reporting platformsFamiliarity with cloud-based integration patterns, particularly in AzureExperience supporting data ingestion, validation, or extract workflowsRequired CompetenciesTechnical Execution: Delivers reliable, high-quality integration-focused codeProblem Solving: Identifies and resolves technical issues efficientlyCollaboration: Works effectively with cross-functional delivery teamsCommunication: Communicates technical concepts clearly and professionallyAdaptability: Adjusts to evolving requirements and client environmentsAttention to Detail: Maintains accuracy and quality across development activitiesConsulting Mindset: Operates with professionalism, accountability, and client focusFlexible work from home options available.
