ER RN Job Details - Walnut Creek Healthcare Jobs Assignment Type: Travel nursing job Location: Walnut Creek, CA 94598 (Bay Area) Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department, Level II Trauma Center, 44 beds Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/2/2025, End: 2/28/2026) Nursing Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (5a-5p, 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 10a-10p, 11a-11p, 1p-1a; must be available for all) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $2410 - $2580 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: One major holiday during assignment Orientation: 2 ED shifts (24 hours) plus 1 shift with Educator (4-6 hours) Documentation System: Epic (experience required) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active California RN license (required for California nursing jobs) Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience At least 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse Prior travel nursing experience in the ER required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) or ENPC, NIH Stroke Scale Preferred: CEN, TNCC, 3-5 years of experience, trauma and pediatric experience Epic documentation experience (must be listed in work history) Superior references required Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills Professional appearance and adherence to dress code (scrubs in any color, non-skid closed-toe shoes, minimal jewelry, neat hair and facial hair, no gel/acrylic nails) ER RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a busy Emergency Department with an average daily census of 190-200 patients Perform triage, assessment, and treatment for trauma, STEMI, stroke, syncope, falls, and elderly patients Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including ER techs, respiratory therapists, case managers, social workers, and advanced practice providers Utilize Epic for all clinical documentation and Pyxis for medication administration Initiate IVs, perform venipuncture, EKGs, and assist with patient transports Adhere to hospital protocols, policies, and safety standards Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a culture focused on patient experience and nursing excellence Float to other hospital units as required Apply now to join our healthcare team in Walnut Creek, California and take the next step in your Emergency Room nursing career!
