Job Description

Under the supervision of the Decision Support Manager, the Financial Planning Analyst will be part of a team to develop and maintain the health system's decision support systems in an accurate and timely manner. They will be cross-trained in all aspects of Decision Support systems including Cost Accounting, Productivity, Epic, and all other applications. The Financial Planning Analyst will be responsible for assisting with financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making across the organization. Required Knowledge & Skills Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: Two years of related financial planning experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to teach classes, do presentations, and educate all staff at all skill levels. Strong information systems skills and ability to navigate software programs easily and identify data integrity issues with data. Strong interpersonal skills to interact as a liaison between the Accounting department and customers both internal and external. Ability to work with detailed information where errors are not easily detected. Ability to prioritize job duties in order to meet deadlines. Ability to perform at best on a consistent basis and to maintain confidentiality at all times. FunctionsArea of Responsibilities Works closely with Decision Support Manager to promote and role model use of electronic systems to the fullest extent possible. Tests and maintains software to ensure accuracy of data and workability of functions. Financial systems include, but are not limited to Epic, Strata, and EPSi. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans. Assist with creation of financial projections, metrics, and proformas for Finance. Cross-train and serve as Applications Coordinator for Finance for maintaining appropriate access controls of module dictionaries Prepare all Medicare and Medicaid contractual spreadsheets and monthly entries including evaluating the appropriateness of estimated allowances across the health system. Prepare lead schedules for all investments and bonds for the health system and the Foundation. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making. Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Supports departments, directors, and administrators on business practices and opportunities. Creates relationships for long-term success. Analyzes information provided by consultants as needed. Conducts training and interviews for financial analysis, budgeting, productivity and cost accounting. Assist VP of Finance and Decision Support Manager with other duties as assigned. Compliance Statement Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
