We are seeking a Data Interoperability Consultant with deep expertise in EHR integration, healthcare data exchange, and API-driven interoperability to lead and support data migration and system integration initiatives across clinical and engagement platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ETL processes, healthcare interoperability standards, and emerging AI-assisted automation frameworks that enhance data quality, workflow efficiency, and patient engagement. You will collaborate closely with technical teams, healthcare providers, and vendors to ensure secure, accurate, and efficient data migration and integration-supporting business continuity and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR. Key Responsibilities: Lead data migration and integration projects between legacy systems, third-party applications, and major EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, etc.). Design, develop, and implement ETL processes to move and transform both structured and unstructured healthcare data. Architect and implement AI-assisted data workflows that enhance interoperability, automate data validation, and improve patient engagement. Utilize interoperability frameworks and integration technologies, including HL7 interfaces, FHIR APIs, CCD/CCDA files, SQL, flat files, and integration engines (Mirth, Rhapsody, etc.). Support cloud-based data exchange leveraging AWS, Azure, or similar platforms. Perform data mapping, validation, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and integrity across systems. Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, develop migration and integration plans, and manage project timelines. Troubleshoot data inconsistencies, interface errors, API failures, and migration issues. Document all integration and migration processes, transformation logic, and post-migration validation results. Ensure all data handling complies with HIPAA, security best practices, and organizational governance standards. Key Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of hands-on experience in data migration, ETL, integration engineering, or interoperability projects (preferably in a healthcare/EHR environment). Strong understanding of healthcare data standards: HL7 v2+, FHIR, CCD/CCDA, ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED. Proficiency in SQL and data transformation tools (SSIS, Talend, Informatica, Mirth Connect, etc.). Experience with one or more major EHR platforms. Experience with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure) and API-driven data exchange. Exposure to or interest in AI-driven automation for data quality, validation, and workflow optimization. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Strong stakeholder and client management abilities.
