The Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees and supports growing, harvesting, packing and maintenance operations at the Loudon facility. This is a leadership role to support and educate all personnel in on our Quality and Food Safety programs. This position assists in ensuring compliance to FDA, State Department of Health, National Organic Program, and Monterey Mushrooms Corporate Food Safety requirements. What do we expect? Ensure that employees in the Growing areas are following Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Ensure that employees in the Harvesting and Packing areas are compliant with FDA regulations for Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food (GMPs) Ensure compliance to Corporate QA Food Safety programs and policies Prepare for and participate in GFSI, CCOF, and customer audits of farm and packing operations Participate in any product mock recall/recalls Ensure compliance to National Organic Program certification requirements Oversee Packing Sanitation team and Environmental Monitoring Program Ensure that facility noncompliance's are addressed through root cause analysis and corrective actions Provide relevant training and materials for facility GAP and GMP needs; Assist in development of robust training programs Other duties as requested by the manager What are we looking for? Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Food Science, or other related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of QA/QC experience in a food manufacturing facility PCQI or HACCP certified Knowledge of FSMA regulations and guidelines Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365 Programs Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization. FSMA PCQI Certified (within last 5 years), preferred HACCP certified, preferred Experience with National Organic Program compliance Ability to lead and motivate people Ability to assist investigations of customer complaints Supervisor Responsibilities: This position manages technicians in the department and is responsible for performance management within that department. Direct Reports: QA Technicians Responsible for interviewing, selecting and training direct reports Responsible for reviewing performance and administering corrective action Plans the work schedules, assigns duties, tracks absenteeism and reviews work to ensure quality standards Responsible for monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance Work Environment: Varying temperatures throughout the facility; as low as 34°F in coolers, warmer temperatures in other parts of the facility. Floors are level concrete. Office environment is typically floors of either tile or carpet.
