Maintenance Technician

Candidate must have the ability and willingness to communicate with all levels of management, desire to learn and grow professionally, and execute well-defined preventative maintenance programs under the direction of a maintenance supervisor. The trainee will receive "on the job" training, including but not limited to: Learn how to repair, maintain, and preform preventative maintenanceGeneral Electrical knowledgeAir compressorsWelding and PipingHydraulics and pneumaticsGeneral equipment and building maintenanceInstall and troubleshoot industrial equipmentPerform indoor and outdoor housekeepingLearn about boiler and wastewater systemsLearn about safety policies and procedures General Experience with air cylinders, solenoid valves, steam traps, motor starters, gear reducers, inverter drives, and other industrial equipment is a plus but not a requirement for this opportunity.BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES, including but not limited to: Maintain safety and cleanliness standardsPerform scheduled preventative maintenance programWork with other associates in a team to accomplish defined goalsUses common tools to perform plant cleaning operations, including but not limited to: floor scrubbers, lint and dust removal devices, outside rubbish removal, equipment cleaning, and pit/trench screen cleaningPerforms miscellaneous painting tasks within the plant or outside painting on the facilities and groundsOperates powered industrial forklifts/lifts throughout the facilities to assist in relocating materialsMay perform various levels of facilities upkeep including landscaping, snow removal, and other refuse removalAfter appropriate training; performs light equipment maintenance tasks such as filter cleaning and replacement, trench screen cleaning, lint and dust blowdown of facilities an equipment, fluid level checks, light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement, cart cleaning and repair, and pressure washingAssist in other areas and/or departments as needed QUALIFICATIONS Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in EnglishHigh school diploma/GEDGeneral Knowledge and skills which represent a good mechanical backgroundMust be able to work a flexible scheduleMust have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 poundsBasic computer skillsAbility to stand for up to 7 hours of an 8-hour shiftAny combination of general maintenance, building maintenance, equipment maintenance, automotive maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical, and military experience is acceptableExposure to formalized safety programs preferred, such as Lock Out/Tag Out, confined space, OSHA awareness, Technical School Courses or Ladder Safety is a plus BENEFITS Competitive payGroup benefits package (Medical, Dental, Disability and life insurance package, Vision, and 401k with generous company match)Paid time off and holidaysTremendous Career Advancement Opportunities COMPANY DESCRIPTIONOhio Textile Service, Inc. is a linen rental supply and commercial laundry company.
