Centered Therapy Chicago (CTC),is a female owned group private practice in the Ravenswood/Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago. We viewclients from a holistic perspective and take a mind/body/spirit approachtoour work. We utilize a feminist, relational, strength-based, collaborative approach in our work. Weoffer a range of evidence-based practices and integratemindfulness, meditation, movement, creative/expressive therapies, and somatic approaches as needed. Centered Therapy Chicago is seeking the following: Advanced (4th year) practicum students We are also open to considering candidates with the following experience: Intermediate/Therapy (3rd year) students with experience providing individual therapy Students seeking an additional training year who have experience providing individual therapy We provide: A fun, engaging, respectful, relational, supportive learning environment that is focused on lifelong learning, growth, and professional development. As a trainee, you will: Receive one hour of weekly individual supervision with a Licensed Clinical Psychologist Participate in weekly group supervision Participate in weekly didactic trainings that emphasize experiential learning in a range of topics including: Relational Therapy Series, Countertransference Series, Family Therapy, NARM Series, Play & Expressive Therapies, Trauma Treatment Series, Body Oriented Series (EMDR, DMT, IFS), and Termination Participate in three all staff meetings a month with a focus on practice/professional development, ethics, and peer consultation Have the opportunity to participate in our CTC Training Center events CTC Training Center Learn important skill of marketing by collaborating with marketing committee and developing skills related to building a personal marketing plan, relational networking, building a professional referral network, and attending networking events A supportive environment that takes care of the operational and business aspects of our clinical work so that the clinician can focus on clinical skills Comprehensive orientation schedule in July to support students in onboarding and orienting to private practice and ongoing administrative support throughout the training year Intake coordination Abundant and intentional referrals with attention to promoting client assignments that are a good fit between therapist and client and for student's developmental needs Billing support which includes insurance billing, coordination of benefits/eligibility, and claims submission Marketing support Beautifully decorated and comfortable office space, including an assigned office for your client meetings, as well as a common area for therapists to gather and connect Training Program Highlights: Therapy clients may include individuals, families, and children, based on your interests and client availability Please note: While we serve clients across the lifespan-including children as young as 3 and adults 60+-this is not a child- or couples-focused site. Your caseload will be diverse and will not consist exclusively of children. We support clients from a wide range of backgrounds (race, religion, spirituality, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and other intersecting identities) All clients are predominantly English-speaking Presenting concerns include anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, identity, and more (see our website for details) Opportunities to join staff in CTC-sponsored community outreach and/or trainings during the training year Option to write a blog post or article for our practice newsletter on a topic you're passionate about Learn how to build and work in a private practice, including billing, insurance, networking, and marketing Refine your therapeutic interests and clinical skills in a supportive, collaborative environment Self-care and trauma stewardship are encouraged and reinforced throughout training Experience supervision and therapeutic work from a holistic, trauma-informed, feminist-relational lens Design and implement a year-long project aligned with your professional goals and private practice experience Use of cloud-based software (TherapyNotes) for client records, scheduling, and documentation 6-8 training days off (dependent on trainee schedule), plus federal holidays Training Program Requirements: We provide on-site training and clinical work Expected to be on-site 3-4 days per week Wednesday is a required training day for supervision and all staff meetings Clinical hours will be scheduled for 3 other days of the week, including evenings and/or Saturdays All training and clinical hours are in the office Clinical work is provided primarily in person, with training and support for a small telehealth caseload This an 11-month practicum (Training Year: July 15, 2026 - June 25, 2027) Schedule a caseload of 12 clients per week Training week is 20-24 hours, which includes clinical work, administrative time, training and supervision Who Thrives in Our Program: You are someone who is passionate about deepening your ability to connect with yourself and your clients. Our approach is relational, developmental, and strength-based, designed to help you refine your clinical skills while deepening your confidence and professional identity. Supervision focuses on your goals and intentions, with an emphasis on case conceptualization, intentional interventions, and exploring the therapeutic relationship-including transference and countertransference. We see supervision as an opportunity to grow alongside you, supporting your evolution as a thoughtful, intentional, and empowered clinician. Where Our Former Trainees Have Gone: We are incredibly proud to announce that we have welcomed back former practicum students as post-doctoral, full-time, and part-time clinicians after completing their APA-accredited internships. Our former practicum students have gone on to complete their internships at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, California State University Long Beach Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Indiana University Student Counseling Center, Louisiana State University Health Services Center School of Medicine (Department of Psychiatry, Section of Psychology), Michigan State University Counseling, MiraCare, Primary Care Psychology Associates LLC, The Village of Hoffman Estates Department of Health and Human Services, and University of Rochester University Counseling Center (UCC).
