What we are looking for: Role: Network Engineer Location: Plano, TX (Onsite) Duration: Long-Term The Network Engineer is responsible for the engineering and leading teams in the deployment of LAN infrastructure. The solutions are designed to provide predictable and reliable high-quality networking solutions throughout North America. This individual will work with business facing teams & users to design appropriate solutions that meet business requirements for network demands across North America locations. This individual successfully analyzes requirements and designs technical solutions for complex problems. This person evaluates technical and economic feasibility of systems solutions (e.g., costs, benefits, feature/functionality, interoperability, scalability, maintainability, etc.) based on the full technology life cycle. The person in this role will support the department's objectives by ensuring the stability and availability of network hardware and software, by planning capacity of the Network infrastructure for Campus, Data Centers and remote sites. The LAN Engineer collaborates with other network, security and domain architects to evaluate and introduce new technology standards. What you'll be doing: Must have excellent communication and leadership skills. Needs to be comfortable leading other Contingent Worker, Partners and site resources to the successful completion of network refers Plan, configure, implement and document solutions in a complex network environment in support of new and existing cloud technology architectures. Measurement, optimization, and tuning of network performance and ensuring that systems will run reliably and are highly available. Support a Cisco centric WAN, LAN, and WLAN environment. This includes routers, firewalls, security, WLAN. Deep understanding of network orchestration and automation Build BOM, coordinate resources, track execution, and validate deployment/upgraded equipment/site. Supervise and or performing site installs, maintenance, upgrades or software enhancements to support the network infrastructure needs. Function as a point of escalation for operational entities regarding regular or complex issues. Monitor system for trouble areas and proactively resolve and document root cause. Experience working Agile methodologies or working as part of an Agile team What you bring (Must Haves): 8 to 10 years of professional experience. High-level teaming and communication skills to influence and persuade others. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management. Deep understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM). Extensive experience designing and implementing Cloud Networking Technologies and Solutions. Strong experience with Monitoring and Alerting Tools: CloudWatch, Grafana, Zabbix, PagerDuty, Site24x7, Nagios. Deep understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) switching technologies including; VXLAN, ACI, fabric path, Spanning Tree, Virtual LAN (VLAN), and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) concepts. Preferred Qualifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification Proficient with scripting technologies, including Python, Ansible, Perl, and Terraform.
