Position Overview The Estimator plays a critical role in the success of restoration projects at Compleat Restorations by delivering accurate, timely, and professional estimates for residential and commercial losses. The Estimator is responsible for evaluating property damage resulting from water, fire, mold, and other losses; developing detailed estimates using Xactimate and related software; and supporting the project lifecycle from initial assessment through completion. This role requires strong technical knowledge of construction and restoration methods, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced and high-stress environments. Through attention to detail, professionalism, and customer-focused service, the Estimator helps ensure high-quality outcomes, financial accuracy, and positive experience. Key Responsibilities Maintain detailed documentation and provide exceptional communication throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct thorough site inspections for residential and commercial restoration projects, assessing damage related to water, fire, mold, storm, and other losses. Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely estimates using Xactimate and other industry-standard estimating software. Develop clear and complete scopes of work in accordance with restoration industry standards, insurance guidelines, and company best practices. Communicate effectively with homeowners, property managers, insurance adjusters, and internal production teams to ensure alignment on scope, pricing, and project expectations, and to ensure smooth project execution. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, responding promptly to emergency loss situations and supporting time-sensitive estimating needs. Negotiate scopes and pricing with insurance representatives while maintaining professionalism and positive working relationships. Maintain detailed and organized project documentation, including notes, photos, sketches, estimates, and correspondence. Collaborate closely with Production Managers and field teams to ensure estimates accurately reflect field conditions and project requirements. Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and clear communication-especially in high-stress situations. Monitor estimate approvals, supplements, and revisions to ensure project profitability and timely progression. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable industry regulations. Support job scheduling, budgeting, and financial tracking as needed to help ensure successful project outcomes. Utilize company technology platforms, job management systems, and Microsoft Office tools to manage workload efficiently. Represent Compleat Restorations professionally at job sites, client meetings, and during all interactions with stakeholders. Required Qualifications Strong negotiation skills to confidently manage complex restoration scenarios. Advanced proficiency in Xactimate and other industry-specific software. High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of residential construction experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Proven experience estimating residential property damage. Strong understanding of restoration industry standards and estimating software. Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills. Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean driving record. Knowledge of construction techniques and materials. Skilled in budgeting, estimating, scheduling, and overall financial management. High level of professionalism with strong attention to detail. Excellent phone and customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively in high-stress environments. Intermediate computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; must be capable of learning specialized industry software, including job management and estimating platforms. Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks within established deadlines. Working Environments and Physical Demands Regular travel to residential and commercial job sites with exposure to active construction and restoration environments. Work conditions may vary and include exposure to weather elements, noise, dust, and other typical job site conditions. Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company safety policies and industry standards. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Prolonged periods of sitting while driving between job sites and while working at a desk to complete estimates and documentation. Physical activity may include standing, walking, bending, climbing, and navigating uneven or potentially hazardous surfaces. Exposure to standard job site environments inherent to construction and restoration operations.
