Experimental Machinist

PGS Worldwide is seeking a CNC Experimental Machinist in Redondo Beach, CA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this role, you will operate 3- and 5-axis milling machines and write machine programs using Mastercam. You will work from engineering drawings, processes, and specifications while supporting experimental machining needs. Required Skills High School Diploma/GED and minimum 5 years of CNC programming/machining experience Strong knowledge of Mastercam to program 3- and 5-axis parts Experience operating 3- and 5-axis milling machines Prior experience operating Haas CNC machines Conventional machining skills Ability to read engineering drawings and follow process and specifications Strong communication skills Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and meet the approval process for individual SAR program access Willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift and overtime as needed Preferred Skills 10+ years of related CNC machining experience Experience with Mazak CNC machines Ability to operate EDM and Plunge/Sinker machines Current Secret security clearance and ability to meet the approval process for individual SAR program access What You'll Do Operate 3- and 5-axis milling machines Write CNC machine programs using Mastercam Perform conventional machining as needed Read and interpret engineering drawings Follow defined processes and specifications Communicate effectively with internal teams to support machining objectives Job ID: 15555 "Military veterans and transitioning military members are encouraged to apply to all PGS Worldwide positions.
