Field Service Engineer KSB SupremeServ by KSB GIW, Inc. Department: Service Reports to: Operations Manager Location: US Southeast Region Shift: 1st FLSA Status: Exempt OVERVIEW: As a Field Service Engineer at KSB, you will be the technical lead on mission-critical projects, responsible for installation, commissioning, routine maintenance, diagnostics, overhaul, and repair of KSB pumps and valves. You'll engage directly with customers, serving as the company's technical ambassador in the field, providing training, troubleshooting, and ensuring peak equipment performance. Your primary focus will be on supporting our Energy & Industry Pump customers. You will also contribute to projects in Mining consisting of both slurry and non-slurry products. Success in this role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive, customer-centric mindset RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Leadership: Supervise and guide the installation, start-up, inspection, and maintenance of centrifugal pumps and related systems at customer sites. Customer Engagement: Act as the technical liaison, cultivating trusted relationships with client personnel, interpreting contract requirements, addressing concerns, and providing exemplary service. Troubleshooting & Problem-solving: Identify potential issues, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions quickly and efficiently. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports following each assignment, summarizing activities, findings, solutions, and recommendations. Training & Development: Deliver engaging, hands-on training and presentations on installation, operation, maintenance, and repair procedures, ensuring customer competence and confidence in KSB technologies. Compliance: Adhere to all company policies regarding travel, expenses, and asset management; ensure all administrative tasks (e.g., time and expense reporting) are completed accurately and on time. Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and stay abreast of the latest industry advancements and best practices. QUALIFICATIONS: Consultation and supervision skills for complex field installations and repairs (centrifugal pumps preferred) Outstanding organizational and time management abilities; able to prioritize tasks for optimal workflow Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills for individual and group settings Strong technical reading comprehension, especially with English technical documentation, diagrams, and schematics Creative and analytical problem-solving mindset; able to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently High level of social perceptiveness and emotional intelligence when working with diverse customer groups Ability to apply general mechanical principles to specific, real-world scenarios (deductive reasoning) Familiarity with metric (ISO) units, engineering tolerances, and mechanical drawing interpretation Willingness and ability to travel extensively, often on short notice, for domestic and international assignments Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in rotating equipment (installation, repair, maintenance, or commissioning; centrifugal pumps preferred) Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Join our team and become a technical leader in an organization recognized for innovation, service excellence, and global impact.
