Job Title:Sr Engineering Technician Location: Burlington, Ma Shift: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm Pay Range: $26.58 - $33.22 /hour Employment Type: Contract (9 months) Position Overview A rapidly growing ophthalmic medical technology and pharmaceutical organization is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support the testing, assembly, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic systems and subsystems. This is a hands-on lab role working closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to support system integration and ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has strong electronics troubleshooting skills, PCB soldering experience, and is comfortable working in a regulated development environment. Key Responsibilities Testing & Troubleshooting Perform hands-on testing, debugging, and repair of electronic boards, subsystems, and full systems Identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions Support verification and validation testing activities Assist engineers during system integration and performance testing Assembly & Fabrication Assemble and inspect PCBAs (through-hole and surface mount) Build and verify cable assemblies (signal, power, and interconnect) Perform basic fabrication to support prototypes and test setups Carefully handle sensitive components including optical assemblies when required Test Fixtures & Documentation Design, set up, and maintain electrical test fixtures Create and maintain documentation including schematics, drawings, and test reports Maintain organized lab equipment, tools, and work areas Compliance & Collaboration Support quality and regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, FDA standards) Work cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers Mentor junior technicians on soldering techniques and troubleshooting procedures Qualifications Required Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic systems and circuit boards Strong soldering skills (through-hole and surface mount) Experience with cable assemblies and electrical interconnects Ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation Comfortable working in a lab and prototype environment Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Preferred Experience in medical device or regulated industry environments Familiarity with verification and validation testing Experience handling optical components Experience mentoring or training junior technicians Work Environment Engineering lab setting with hands-on technical work Cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams Regulated product development environment Benefits: Use this link /4cGUQSh to learn more about benefits available to Eastridge's temporary employees.
