Activity Director

Calyx Living is actively seeking an energetic and creative Activity Director for our beautiful assisted living community located in beautiful North Durham off the Eno River and just minutes from Duke University, the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the American Tobacco Campus in downtown Durham's vibrant entertainment district.         The Activity Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a vibrant, holistic and varied recreational activity program at the community. The role of the Activity Director is to plan, develop and organize activities that keep our residents active and energized each and every day! The Activity Director also maintains our group of engaged and passionate instructors - whether art, yoga, gardening or another energizing class - routinely scheduled and delivering a best-of-class activity program for our seniors!   Activity Director Qualifications:  A passion to work with the senior populationStrong planning and organizational skillsWarm and outgoing personalityWillingness to work flexible hours, such as during evenings and weekends, for planned activities and eventsA current driver's license in good standing in NCIdeally has one year of activity programming experience.Has already or must be willing to complete the State Activity CourseTechnology proficient including experience working with Google Sheets, MS Office including Word and PublisherIdeally has a degree in Activities Development or Recreational Therapy or a demonstrated interest in working with seniors in an activity or programming capacity If you have strong people and organizational skills, and are interested in spearheading a vibrant, holistic engagement program for our seniors, please apply here.
