Position Summary This position works under the direction of the Senior Director of Informatics and the Project Director to lead the Epic access and revenue cycle application implementation and provide day-to-day direction to the Access/Revenue Cycle team on the planning, design, development, build and/or configuration of third party applications and Epic's registration, scheduling, information management, professional billing, claims, and remittance applications. These applications include Prelude, Cadence, HIM, Resolute, Claims, Remit, Charge Router, and other related Epic and third-party applications. The Access & Revenue Cycle ("ARC") Applications Manager will have a solid understanding of the operational practices of scheduling and payer authorizations of the MFA and a mastery of ambulatory clinic-based physician billing, reporting, fee schedule build/maintenance, cash management, and related functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for overseeing Clinical and Patient Experience applications within the Epic environment at MFA. Responsibilities include: Leading the ARC Analysts through implementations: providing instruction on various technical topics to other team members, educating/training new hires, providing mentorship to team members, managing an application project through the entire project life cycle while meeting project deadlines and initiatives and monitoring a project plan while reporting project changes and status to project managers and supervisor. Leads the ARC team members on optimization of the application through development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects. Serves as the resource for other application team members on technical and functional application analysis, defining system requirement and developing logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance, workflow and data integrity. Assign and manage the daily and long term work tasks of the analysts on the team. Leads weekly meetings with team members and operational leaders to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones. Working with the relevant Principal Trainers to ensure that the curriculum and training of end users is accurate, accessible, and comprehensive. Works with cross functional teams and MGA business partners by providing education on system functionality and configuration of new tools to increase end user productivity within the application. Ensures system changes follow change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications. Communicating all necessary application changes, enhancements and procedures to all necessary departments. Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings. Works with Epic representatives, MFA's business partners, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's workflows by attending site visits, workflow sessions, and other integrated sessions. Develops an understanding the clinical and operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows by attending site visits, workflow sessions, and other integrated sessions. May participate in the development of end-user training processes and/or curriculum content. Engages regularly with key stakeholders across the organization. Troubleshoots problems and questions from end users. Reviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership. Attends and leads regular meetings with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones. In conjunction with subject matter experts, leads the build of application-specific workflows or processes practices and users that could include, for example, decision trees, provider templates, referrals, authorizations, visit types, work queues, RTE, user role templates, application-specific schedules, visit navigators, preference lists, orders and linked charges, results routing, documentation templates, flowsheets, reports, SmartForms, visit types, etc. Completes testing cycles (unit, functional and integration testing); includes coordinating with departmental end-users and obtaining customer signoff. Works with other analysts and is key point of collaboration to other teams to maintain continuity in process and in support of our integrated Epic electronic medical record. Conducts system enhancements/new features, build, upgrades/quarterly updates and optimization. Ensures all changes to the application follow approved change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications. Education College Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree (IT/Healthcare Focus Preferred) OR Associate’s degree with at least four (4) years’ experience Licenses Current Epic certification(s) for relevant applications. New hires and transfers have no more than 45 days from completion of MFA-sponsored Epic training to complete any required Epic certifications. Analysts must remain current on Epic Certifications, badges, trainings, and other credentials. Experience 3 years minimum experience in healthcare specialty field and/or in a software vender environment preferred. Additional experience may be required based upon assignment. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels within and outside the Medical Faculty Associates (MFA). Must be able to do math calculations and input data into the computer.
