In this role, you will shape the future of the electric grid by transforming complex planning data into actionable insights that support long term system decisions. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and advisors to gather and validate critical inputs, design and implement automation that enhances System Planning, Grid Planning, and Internal Energization workflows, and develop accurate forecast models and clear visualizations that reveal emerging system needs. You will also contribute to the design and construction of a new generation of planning tools, including data pipelines, analytics models, and application interfaces that improve planner productivity and decision quality. /u00a0 This work contributes to SCE/u2019s Integrated Grid Planning and Execution (IGPE) initiative by supporting the integration of distribution and transmission planning into a streamlined, data-driven process. A strong foundation in System Planning and the ability to write efficient code in Python and create robust database scripts in SQL will be essential, along with a commitment to learning quickly and applying sound engineering practices. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?/u00a0 /u00a0 Responsibilities Performs inspections and evaluations of existing conditions for various electrical equipment and systems for proper installation, problem identi/ufb01cation/ trouble shooting, and overall improvements. Ensures system event assessments and RCA are performed for equipment failures and implements corrective actions, con/ufb01rming proper mitigation plans are in place. Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and design plans related to projects and analysis of increasing scope and complexity. Conducts independent engineering work, receiving guidance on the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs power system modeling and analyses utilizing software tools and applications; stays informed of technology advancements, market trends, and relevant guidelines and standards related to energy technology. Ensures the performance of day-to-day preventive maintenance activities to maintain equipment and ensure continued operation according to required standards including Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality and environmental and reliability standards. Helps ensure infrastructure/u2019s supporting processes are validated/qualified throughout their life cycle. Develops the engineering facility design, including but not limited to electrical system design, such as sizing, creating one-line diagrams, and selecting equipment. Assists in the development of new technology and standards strategy and the implementation of strategies into business operations to improve power system functionality and quality of service to customers. Acts as project sponsors with some technical assistance when responding to technical questions requiring project modi/ufb01cation to move projects through their lifecycle. A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, /ufb01nancial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, con/ufb01dential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scienti/ufb01c/technical/math /ufb01eld. Two or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments. Possess a valid Class C Driver's License. /u00a0 Preferred Qualifications Foundational knowledge of power systems, statistics, forecasting, or data analytics, with the ability to apply these concepts to load/u2011forecasting and system data evaluation. Experience using Python, SQL, Snowflake, or similar tools to manage large datasets, automate processes, and support forecasting workflows. Demonstrated experience with forecasting models, statistical analyses, or scenario/u2011based studies, along with strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills to identify data issues and improvement opportunities. Experience with machine learning or AI techniques to enhance forecasting accuracy, automate data processes, or support advanced analytical studies is preferred. Experience with data visualization and dashboard development such as Power BI and familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Power Automate to support efficient reporting and forecasting processes. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross/u2011functional teams, gather requirements, and translate stakeholder needs into technical solutions. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts and present findings to both technical and non/u2011technical audiences, including external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple assignments, balance competing priorities, and adapt to evolving business needs in a fast/u2011paced environment. Strong ability to document processes, methodologies, and workflows clearly and consistently to support transparency, knowledge sharing, and long/u2011term maintainability. Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, methods, and technologies, especially in evolving forecasting and data environments. Ability to adapt to uncertainty, pivot quickly as priorities shift, and respond effectively to changing business needs in a fast/u2011paced environment. Proven ownership mindset, with the ability to take initiative, drive tasks to completion, and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes or outcomes. /u00a0 Additional Information/u00a0 This position/u2019s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days./u00a0 Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California./u00a0 Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
