Job Description: Pay Range: $41hr - $90hr Responsibilities: Leads or administers work of PD&P designers and drafters for a business line technology to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings. Develops designs for complete and complex 3D model equipment layouts & pipe designs with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed. Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations. Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved PD&P design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy. Participates in constructability reviews. Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort. Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents. Reviews PD&P design scope changes, as required, for project management. Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use. Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills: Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without client visa sponsorship now or in the future. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge.). Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns-including sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries -are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks and connects with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
