We strive for continuous improvement in serving the diverse needs of our community, helping all students achieve their full potential.BOCES 2 Core Values: Collaboration, Expertise, Innovation, Integrity, Quality, Respect, and Responsiveness.PAY RANGE: $31.00 - $45.00/Hour, Based on Experience CIVIL SERVICE TITLE(S): Physical Therapist (Competitive) PROGRAM DATES: July 6, 2026 - August 14, 2026 ORIENTATION: July 1, 2026 (Mandatory) & July 2, 2026 (Optional for new staff/classroom set up) JOB DESCRIPTION: Evaluate, plan and provide general physical therapy services to students in multiple service locations to enable them to profit from their education program. TYPICAL DUTIES: Evaluate the degree of function and disability of students. Develop a written prescription to be incorporated into the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for each student to receive therapy services. Provide physical therapy services in accordance with the written prescription, order or referral of a licensed physician in the IEP. Develop and apply adaptive assistive devices and/or self-help techniques to achieve maximum independence. Participate in staffings. Participate in parent and teacher conferences. Prepare and maintain appropriate records. Establish and maintain communications with physicians and community agencies working with the students. Perform such other professionally related duties as may be required by the Supervisor. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Must possess or meet Civil Service requirements for title of Physical Therapist. Licensed and currently registered by the NYS Education Department as a Physical Therapist. Experience: Pediatric experience preferred.
