Performs required preventative maintenance to minimize and/or prevent equipment downtime. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Utilize diagnostic tools like PLCs, HMIs, and electrical schematics to identify root causes of malfunctions. Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs. Clean and lubricate machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures. Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications. Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information. Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance. Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment. Requirements QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Strong electrical, mechanical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions in a timely manner while adhering to safety protocols. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Computer skills as they pertain to this job including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms, with vendors, customers, co-workers, and supervisors. Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School degree, diploma or a GED; Preferred Education: Mechatronics or Industrial Maintenance At least 2 - 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
