Title: Telecommunications Technician Location: Orlando International Airport (MCO) - Orlando, Florida Ever wanted to know more about working at an airport? If you are looking for an exciting challenge whereby no two days are the same, then this position may be for you! FLSA Status and Hours: This is a full-time position that requires onsite shift work. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Position Overview: The Telecommunications Technician is responsible for executing daily tasks, project work orders, and resolving trouble tickets across all areas of Orlando International Airport. This includes support for Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) employees, Concessions, Airline Services, and Airlines within all terminals and surrounding properties. All work must be completed in a concise, professional, and customer-focused manner. Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Prepare telecommunications endpoints for deployment. Maintain and manage inventory of stock and equipment. Assess physical environments for Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDFs) and Main Distribution Frames (MDFs). Repair damaged jacks and faceplates, test cables, and run cross-connects. Provision SIP endpoints in Avaya System Manager. Make programming changes in Avaya Voice Mail. Ensure timely closure of work orders and trouble tickets within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), including appropriate documentation. Coordinate daily with Unified Communications and Network Teams. Troubleshoot AudioCodes SIP Gateway Devices and Code Blue Emergency Phones. Read and interpret construction floor plans and technical schematics. Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 lbs. and extensive walking across airport facilities. Minimum Qualifications: Working knowledge of the Avaya Aura Core Suite. Knowledge of T-1, ISDN, VOIP and fiber testing procedures and equipment. Excellent customer interaction and communication skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work independently. Exhibit a strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines. Must be competent in all Microsoft Office applications and an excellent understanding of VOIP telephony systems. Callpilot, auto-attendant applications and programming skills. Familiarity with low-voltage wiring and cabling standards. Must be able and willing to work various shifts, weekends and holidays, as needed. Must have a valid driver's license.
