Job Title: Municipal Engineer Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Municipal Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day municipal engineering activities, including wastewater treatment, stormwater management, water supply systems, and project management. This role involves both office-based design work and field support, contributing to the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Develop project plans and supervise or participate in engineering design activities Design and oversee a wide range of municipal improvement projects Conduct street design and street needs assessments Perform technical analyses for new street construction and modifications to existing streets Maintain city-wide maps, plans, and thoroughfare plans Apply traffic engineering principles to the design and maintenance of traffic signals, signage, lighting, and related systems Maintain project databases as directed by project managers Research, write, and edit technical reports and business correspondence Provide engineering support and recommendations through field visits and site inspections Conduct field reviews and site visits as required Attend project-related meetings Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills & Competencies Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical reports and business correspondence Public presentation skills Familiarity with stormwater modeling software Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Ongoing professional development, certifications, and training supported Experience Requirements In-depth knowledge of municipal engineering design principles, including wastewater, stormwater management, water supply systems, and project management Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience (flexibility based on skill set and expertise) Licensure Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio Benefits 401(k) with employer matching Health, dental, and vision insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Tuition reimbursement Retirement plan
