Job Description

This role supports the Campus Pastor and serves as a strategic partner, helping the campus pastor lead with clarity, health, and focus. It also goes beyond task execution to include gatekeeping, organization, staff care, and culture building. The administrative assistant helps protect priorities, organize communication, care for the staff, and champion's a healthy staff environment in alignment with the mission and vision of Southeast Christian Church. What You Will Be Doing Manage Campus Pastor's time most effectively - schedule appointments, manages e-mails, and take care of details to free up Campus Pastor to tackle more important duties. Administrative details associated with new members, holds or transfers, which would include weekly reporting information to 920, database management and running reports and sending out information about Membership Class in a timely manner. Weekly collecting and reporting attendance for Groups at the Shelby Campus. Weekly communication of baptisms, baptizers & decision guides using Outlook and ROCK. Monthly preparation of "What's Happening" using Canva and monthly "Life at Shelby" email keeping our congregation informed of events each month. Learn and become proficient in ROCK (SECC database). Build & maintain relationships with other Campus Pastor administrative assistants. Administrate, assist in planning and reservations for special events such as staff retreats and special campus events. Assist with funerals and weddings at the Shelby Campus as needed. Assist in ordering supplies for the office that are used by all Shelby Campus staff. Attend all required meetings. Welcoming new staff into the existing team environment by helping with office equipment, database, etc. and supporting a positive onboarding experience. Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers. Maintain an active and visible presence in the life of the Shelby Campus by consistently being present and supporting groups, worship services, church-wide events and off-site events. Be available & accessible for miscellaneous tasks daily as requested. Leads staff culture of fun, encouragement, and relational care. What We Are Looking For Must be able to be a team player on a variety of teams with different objectives & roles. Use discretion, confidentiality, flexibility and interpersonal skills necessary. Perform duties that require independent judgement based on experience and knowledge. Decisions are made within general church policy constraints, but position requires stand-alone decision-making and understanding of church policies. Must be able to evaluate, understand and comprehend circumstances without direct supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt quickly to change and understand culture of SECC. Needs ability to multi-task, think "Big Picture," and delegate responsibility and tasks to volunteers. Flexible and calm under stress. Our Requirements Prefer bachelor's degree. Must have previous experience in administrative work. History of working with volunteers.
