Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (Pediatric ED) Location: Syracuse, NY 13210 Shift: Night Shift | 3×12-Hour Shifts (19:00 - 07:30) Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays required Position Overview We are seeking experienced Night Shift Registered Nurses for a Pediatric Emergency Department. Candidates must have the majority of their recent experience in a Pediatric ED setting. Adult ED experience is a plus; however, candidates with experience only in combined Adult/Pediatric EDs will not be considered. Required Experience & Skills Minimum 2 years of recent (within the past 2 years) Pediatric Emergency Department experience Strong triage skills with formal triage training Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers preferred Ability to function independently with minimal orientation in a high-acuity setting Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records Prior experience in large acute-care hospitals or trauma centers Licensure & Certifications Current New York State RN License BLS certification (must be current or able to recertify) Traveler Requirements Travelers must have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size and/or trauma centers Pediatric ED experience is mandatory for consideration Additional Requirements Must have no history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation Must not have been named as a defendant in a professional liability claim Verification of legal right to work in the United States Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance Subject to drug screening and criminal background check Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity Pediatric ED Perform comprehensive patient assessments and interventions appropriate to emergency care Manage patient care responsibilities with minimal supervision Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary emergency care teams
