Senior Business Analyst

Fortegra is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong experience in data analysis, technology projects, and enterprise systems. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and technology teams to gather business requirements, translate them into functional and system requirements, and support data migrations, analytics, and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SQL, cloud data platforms, BI tools, and modern AI-assisted analysis techniques. Key Responsibilities: Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and functional requirements from business stakeholders. Translate business requirements into system requirements, data requirements, and technical specifications. Support data migration and system implementation efforts, including data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution. Perform SQL-based data analysis to validate requirements, support testing, and analyze system data. Prepare, cleanse, and analyze data using Excel, CSV files, and structured/semi-structured data formats (JSON). Work with 1-to-many datasets and perform joins across claims, policies, and transactional data sources. Develop and validate reports, dashboards, and insights using Power BI or similar BI tools. Analyze data stored in Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms. Leverage AI/LLM tools to assist with requirements analysis, data exploration, documentation, and pattern identification. Collaborate with technology, data, QA, and project teams across Agile and hybrid SDLC environments. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on technology or data-driven projects. Strong experience with requirements gathering, business analysis, and stakeholder management. Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with CSV files. Experience analyzing system data and supporting data migrations or system integrations Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and data visualization tools. Experience working with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse technologies. Familiarity with AI/LLM tools (e.g., generative AI, copilots) for requirements analysis and data analysis. Experience working with JSON, APIs, and semi-structured data. Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries. Experience working in Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments.
