SUMMARY: The Business Lending & Treasury Management Specialist serves as a critical support resource across Commercial Lending, Portfolio Management, and Treasury Management functions. This role acts as a Loan Officer Assistant, Portfolio Management Assistant, and Treasury Management Support Specialist, providing administrative, operational, and client-facing support to ensure efficient processing, strong member relationships, and regulatory compliance. The Specialist plays a hands-on role throughout the lifecycle of commercial loans and treasury services—coordinating due diligence, supporting underwriting, onboarding members, training members on treasury products, and ensuring accurate booking and implementation of treasury solutions. This position is central to turning branch and business banker referrals into fully onboarded, well-supported business relationships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLoan Officer, Relationship & Treasury Referral SupportServe as the primary support resource for commercial lenders, business bankers, and branch teams by: Managing treasury management referrals from branches and business bankers/lenders. Assisting with borrower communications, status updates, and follow-ups. Drafting proposals, engagement letters, and pipeline updates for both lending and treasury services. Gather and organize upfront borrower documentation for new loan requests, renewals, and treasury services. Maintain CRM systems, loan and treasury pipelines, and internal tracking tools to ensure transparency and momentum. Treasury Management Due Diligence, Underwriting & OnboardingConduct and coordinate due diligence for treasury management services, ensuring compliance with internal policy and regulatory requirements. Support treasury underwriting by collecting, reviewing, and validating required documentation related to ACH, wire origination, Remote Deposit Capture, and fraud mitigation services. Facilitate end-to-end onboarding of treasury management products, including: Remote Deposit Capture ACH origination Wire origination Positive Pay and other fraud prevention tools Partner with members to complete setup, documentation, testing, and approvals for treasury services. Train members on treasury platforms, tools, and workflows to ensure confident adoption and effective use of services. Book treasury products accurately within core and ancillary systems in accordance with policy and pricing approvals. Loan Closing & Funding SupportCoordinate and track all post-approval activities required to close commercial loans, including: Collection of appraisals, environmental reports, title work, insurance, and entity documentation. Collaboration with internal teams, borrowers, title companies, and legal counsel. Ensure all closing conditions and documentation are complete, accurate, compliant, and audit-ready. Annual Review & Portfolio Management SupportCoordinate the annual review process for commercial loan portfolios by: Requesting and collecting updated financial statements, tax returns, insurance certificates, rent rolls, and borrower certifications. Supporting credit and lending teams to ensure timely completion and documentation of reviews. Monitor maturity reports, covenant tracking, and ticklers; assist in gathering and resolving outstanding items. Maintain accurate borrower and treasury files in compliance with policy, audit, and retention standards. Manage and monitor the past due report. Client Onboarding & Account MaintenanceFacilitate new commercial and small business account openings, including treasury-enabled accounts. Ensure compliance with KYC, CIP, and all regulatory and internal onboarding requirements. Manage the end-to-end process for business accounts submitted through digital channels, ensuring timely follow-up and document verification. Process account maintenance requests, including signer changes, address updates, account closures, and treasury service modifications. Provide ongoing member support related to commercial accounts, treasury services, and loan inquiries. Administrative & Operational DutiesMaintain organized documentation and status reporting for loans, treasury onboarding, and annual reviews. Schedule meetings and prepare materials for borrowers, vendors, and internal partners. Track, escalate, and resolve outstanding items or delays impacting closings, treasury onboarding, or reviews. Support special projects and operational initiatives led by Business Lending, Treasury Management, or Operations leadership. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce friction, and elevate the member experience. Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure all lending and treasury activities comply with NCUA regulations, internal policies, and audit standards. Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and sound judgment when handling sensitive member, loan, and treasury data. Assist with preparation for internal audits, regulatory exams, and third-party reviews related to lending and treasury services. REQUIREMENTSEducation:Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a financial institution; familiarity with the Symitar core system required. Experience: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, member-first mindset. Familiarity with loan documentation, treasury products (ACH, wires, RDC, Positive Pay), financial statement review, SharePoint, and loan origination or treasury platforms preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where priorities can shift quickly.
