The Lunch Aide supports a safe, orderly, and positive lunchtime environment for elementary students. This role helps supervise students during lunch, encourages appropriate behavior, and assists with basic needs to ensure students feel supported and cared for during non-instructional time. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supervise students during lunch periods in the cafeteria, classrooms, and/or outdoor areas Assist students with opening food containers, cleaning up spills, and general lunchtime needs Monitor student behavior and encourage positive, respectful interactions Enforce school rules and procedures related to lunch and recess Support smooth transitions to and from lunch, recess, and classroom activities Communicate concerns or incidents to teachers or school administration as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment Provide basic first aid or seek assistance when necessary (per school policy) Ensure food hygiene Ensure the safety of all students at all times Assist students who require or request it Monitor and promote positive student behaviors Ensure cleanliness of tables at lunch dismissal Work collaboratively with other staff Other duties as assigned by manager Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience working with children is a plus Ability to manage groups of students calmly and respectfully Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults Dependable, punctual, and able to follow school policies Ability to stand, walk, and supervise for extended periods of time Strong interpersonal skills Outstanding organizational skills and strong attention to detail; excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children Possess the desire and willingness to develop own skill set Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain constructive group relationships.
