Eby Construction Co., Inc. is currently seeking Ironworker Trainees to join our team. As a trainee, you will begin your career by working closely with experienced Ironworkers who will mentor and guide you in developing the skills necessary to become a well-rounded and capable tradesperson. In this hands-on role, you will gain exposure to a wide range of tasks, including: Cutting and rigging steel components Hoisting and connecting structural members Aligning and bolting up steel assemblies Welding and bracing structural steel This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn, work hard, and grow within a respected construction company. Position Requirements Essential Functions: • Reliable and punctual attendance • Determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions • Hoist steel beams, girders, or columns • Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment • Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting • Cut rods to required lengths using metal shears, hacksaws, bar cutters, or torches • Cut and fit wire mesh or fabric, using hooked rods, and position fabric or mesh in concrete to reinforce concrete Requirements: To succeed as an Ironworker, candidates must be able to take direction, work effectively as part of a team, and consistently follow company safety policies and procedures. Participation in safety training programs is required. Successful individuals will also demonstrate the ability to properly maintain and operate a variety of tools and equipment, including arc and wire-feed welders, grinders, quickie saws, rebar shears, porta-band saws, cutting torches, chain falls, torque wrenches, TC impact guns, Hogan drills, and hammer drills.
