This position is responsible for routine Hatchery sanitation and maintenance as needed of the Hatchery including: a clean work environment, monitoring of control systems and/or robotic equipment, and hatchery preparation for production. Shift Schedule & Hours Friday: 3:00 PM – 5:00 AM Saturday: 3:00 PM – 5:00 AM Sunday: 3:00 PM – 4:00 AM Duties and Responsibilities: The Night Shift Sanitation position reports to the Hatchery Manager. The position: Cleans and sanitizes the Hatchery in preparation for the next day’s work; Follows and completes nightly and weekly checklists; Provides support for the Maintenance Department during the overnight shifts. Identifies and repairs problems or weaknesses that arise in mechanical systems or equipment as needed during the overnight shifts. Uses a variety of tools including but not limited to: Electric Drill, Wrenches, and Screw Drivers. Follows all company regulations pertaining to Bio-Security, Animal Welfare, and Safety; Performs all tasks in an organized and timely manner while prioritizing immediate needs and actions; Maintains a safe and clean working environment; Works as a team member to successfully achieve the company’s goal of hatching, processing, and transferring as many poults as possible; Demonstrates ability to physically lift and/or push and handle up to 50 lbs. as needed during a shift; Carries out all directives in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws; Handles all company information and processes with complete confidentiality; Follows the direction of the Hatchery Manager and the Maintenance Supervisor for maintenance related tasks; Performs other duties or tasks as assigned.Qualifications & Skills Mechanical ability with preferred basic machine maintenance experience; Deductive reasoning skills with the ability to prioritize while troubleshooting possible machine issues; Proficiency in English – reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension; Experience using basic tools for minor repairs; Good hand/eye coordination; Ability to climb using ladders and work from heights or different positions at times; Ability to use a power washer, as well as work in an environment that has exposure to dust, chemicals, and/or fumes.
