Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking a Commercial HVAC Journeyman Service Technician in Reno, NV to service heating and cooling systems for casinos, hotels, and commercial properties. Impact • Maintain climate control for high-occupancy hospitality facilities where guest comfort is critical • Minimize downtime for gaming and hospitality operations through rapid response to service calls • Optimize system performance and energy efficiency to reduce operating costs • Ensure code compliance and maintain manufacturer warranties through proper service procedures • Support client retention through professional service and technical expertise Responsibilities • Perform preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, and air handlers • Diagnose and repair equipment failures involving compressors, motors, controls, and refrigerant systems • Test refrigerant charge, airflow, and temperature control settings for optimal performance • Replace filters, belts, bearings, and other consumable components during scheduled service • Respond to emergency service calls to restore heating and cooling operations • Inspect electrical connections and test capacitors, contactors, and control circuits • Document service activities and provide detailed reports with recommendations • Communicate with facility engineers to coordinate maintenance schedules • Maintain company vehicle and ensure proper inventory of parts and supplies Requirements Must-Haves • 4+ years of commercial HVAC service experience • EPA Universal refrigerant handling certification • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills • Valid Nevada driver's license with clean record • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed Nice-to-Haves • NATE certification in commercial HVAC • Experience with chillers and large commercial systems • Knowledge of building automation and DDC controls • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Compensation & Logistics Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include medical and dental insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, company vehicle, tools, and shift differential for after-hours work.
