Position Type: Other Date Posted: 2/20/2026 Location: Central Office-Board of Education POSITION: Payroll Coordinator REPORTS TO: Director of Finance and Business ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Payroll Administration and Processing Coordinates and process weekly and biweekly payroll for all District employee groups, including: certified staff (teachers and administrators), classified staff (paraprofessionals/SE trainers, clerical, and custodial maintenance), non-union staff, substitute and per diem employees, seasonal and temporary personnel. Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) Compliance Interpret and apply payroll provisions contained in union contracts, including: work calendars, extra-duty pay rates, overtime eligibility and calculations, sick, personal, vacation, compensatory time, and stipend eligibility and approval requirements. Reporting, Reconciling, and Audits Prepare payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders, including payroll register reconciliation, benefit deduction summaries, retirement wage and contribution reports, and grant-funded payroll allocation reporting. Employee Support and Customer Service Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, supervisors, and union representatives. Payroll Systems and Records Management Maintain accurate payroll and employee compensation records in the District's ERP and HR/payroll platforms (e.g., MUNIS). Collaboration and Process Improvement Work with the leadership of Finance and Human Resources departments to ensure alignment between personnel actions and payroll execution. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (bachelor's preferred). Minimum 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a public sector district or unionized government environment. Demonstrated knowledge of payroll practices, tax regulations, and contract-based compensation structures. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict payroll deadlines. Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
