JMT is currently ranked #50 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms.Position Summary: Responsible for preparing plans from the provided engineering sketches and details for projects.Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Performs drafting in MicroStation and/or AutocadPlot utilities and topographic mappingPerform office survey activities in accordance with Minimum Standards of Practice for SurveyingPerform utility records researchPerforms office computations necessary for the completion of task assignments including QA/QC.Prepares finished mapping products including: SUE QL B, C, and D level mapping, topographic mapping, and other survey reportsCommunicates the daily progress of the crew towards the project goals and/or accomplishments with the office staff Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening Required Experience High school diploma or equivalentFamiliarity with Subsurface Utility Designation and/or Test HolesFamiliarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting, including Microstation & AutoCAD Working ConditionsWork is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.Field work is required 5% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
