This team is known for its strong engineering culture, collaborative environment, and commitment to excellence in high-voltage power line and substation design.About the RoleAs a Transmission Line Design Engineer, you will independently perform the physical design of high-voltage transmission lines and support projects that directly impact Georgia's energy infrastructure. You'll work with a team of talented engineers and contribute to design standards, engineering studies, and technical project execution.If you bring experience with PLS-CADD and a passion for transmission line design, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a stable, mission-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCore Engineering Responsibilities Independently perform structural and physical design of high-voltage transmission lines.Produce drawings, specifications, and contract documents for construction, fabrication, and bid packages.Conduct engineering research, studies, and evaluations of materials and design standards.Apply standard and advanced design techniques while exercising sound engineering judgment.Represent Transmission Line Design in internal cross-functional teams.Lead the development and modification of departmental design standards. Additional Responsibilities for More Senior Candidates Train and mentor new design associates.Conduct design reviews of complex projects.Serve as the senior technical consultant for internal departments and partnering Electric Membership Cooperatives.Provide expert engineering testimony in legal proceedings when required.Lead engineering studies, evaluate materials, and implement findings.Support team budgeting and goal-setting efforts.Initiate and drive process improvement initiatives across the group. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.PLS-CADD experience is a must.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with high-voltage power line or substation projects is highly valued.
