Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

HGA is seeking a direct-hire Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our Baton Rouge office. This role supports a Lead Engineer and involves both individual and team-based assignments to help produce high-quality deliverables under close supervision. Key Responsibilities: Perform and review engineering design activities based on general instructions and drawings. Develop specifications and requisitions for instrumentation, control systems, DCS, PLCs, and Safety Instrumented Systems. Create instrument indexes and contribute to P&ID development. Direct designers and drafters in preparing detailed construction drawing packages, including layouts, diagrams, schedules, and installation details. Ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and completeness of design packages. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution. 2-5 years of experience in Electrical and Instrumentation engineering, preferably within consulting or industrial project settings. Strong knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, ANSI, and international codes. Experience with instrumentation and valve sizing software is a plus. Must reside within commuting distance of Baton Rouge, LA. Preferred Credentials: Engineer Intern (EI) registration. Successful completion of the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
